We worked with the University of Canterbury (UC) on several kaupapa over two years. Our role was to provide support and advice through a specific lens, drawing on our understanding of te ao Māori. This included weaving Māori storytelling concepts into written narratives, making recommendations on messaging and approaches for campaigns directed at Māori audiences, contributing to marketing for specific campaigns such as Te Kakau a Māui, and conducting research to inform design and branding approaches. UC established themselves as New Zealand's first Treaty university, and it was great to see their commitment to a meaningful and authentic partnership through their choices to work with Māori organisations to influence their communications and marketing approaches.
